TWA Short Story Challenge #8 – TYKTWD

TYKTWDWelcome lovers of short stories.

This week we have a writing prompt that will please the big-hearted in all of us. The really big-hearted. Like…the absolutely monstrously massively huge-hearted.

The prompt is: “Take your kaiju to work day.”

And what does that mean? Well, we’ve all seen movies where some giant monster tears through the downtown of a major metropolitan area. There is destruction, mayhem, power lines crackling and streets caved in. But we at the arena have had our fill of that. No, we don’t want a monster story like all the other monster stories. We want the mundane. We want the normal. We want to know what life would be like for the everyday folks living in a world where Godzilla sized monsters are the norm, have been around long enough to no longer be surprising, and are kind of just…there.

Battling it out this week are Tony Southcotte, arena resident, and new challenger Daniel Hale.

Stories will be posted on July 9th and judgement shall ensue.

On a side note, we are paying our authors a base level rate at the moment, but if you really enjoyed their story and want to help us make sure these awesome people get paid, please donate below. 75% goes to the author, the rest goes to keeping this place up and running.
