TWA #35 – Siren Song Battle Thread

“The Birds and the Trees” by Albert Berg

“Someday My Blues Will Cover This Town” by Tom Leins

Battle #35 Siren Song

Welcome, short story lovers, to our thirty-fifth battle here in the arena.

This week we asked our authors to write us a melody, an entrancing hypnotic melody.

We asked for a story in which a character was charmed by music.

Who’s got the chops to avoid getting chopped?

Lets’s find out.

Representing the arena this week is Albert Berg with “The Birds and the Trees.”

Battling against him is Tom Leins with “Someday My Blues Will Cover This Town.”

The Battle of the Ballads has begun.

Read, comment, vote, enjoy!

We have two judges that will render their decision by Friday. The third vote comes from you, the readers. We ask that you read both stories objectively, and then leave a comment below or on the story itself. Authors are not allowed to comment on their own stories, but we’re sure they’ll be checking in here. We’ll tally up the totals and announce our champion on Friday.

(Apologies to Tom Leins as our polling program does not allow enough letters per entry to fit his noir-esque title in full)
