TWA #23 – A Hard Rain Battle Thread

“Preservation” by Albert Berg
“Words on the Wind” by Lu Whitley

Caught in the Storm Welcome, short story lovers.

It is time to see what our authors have whipped up for the battle of the storms.

Our authors were told to write stories in which a great storm occurred, impacting their tale as much as any character might.

What sorts of gales and gusts did they come up with?

Let’s find out.

Albert Berg represents the arena with his story “Preservation.”

Challenging him is Lu Whitley with “Words on the Wind.”

Battle #23 is now live!

Read, comment, vote, enjoy!

We have two judges that will render their decision by Friday. The third vote comes from you, the readers. We ask that you read both stories objectively, and then leave a comment below or on the story itself. Authors are not allowed to comment on their own stories, but we’re sure they’ll be checking in here. We’ll tally up the totals and announce our champion on Friday.

  1. I like to play a little game each week where I write a plot in my head and see how it would have fared against each of the entries. I don’t necessarily win each time, not even in my own head. That being said, “Words on the Wind” would have beaten the Holy heck out of ANYTHING I could have offered up. That was literary beauty, no offense to Albert’s otherwise strong contribution. It has my vote.
